OUR SUPPORTERS

Picture
We have developed and grown during the past decade through support from a small number of long-term strategic partnerships and funding relationships. In the early years Programmatic and core support was provided by the Dorobo Fund for Tanzania, African Initiatives, and Norwegian People’s Aid.

As UCRT continues to expand its Programmes and scope of operations, we continue to seek long-term strategic partnerships with other organisations committed to social justice and rural development through strengthening community-based natural resource management in northern Tanzania. We prioritize the development of medium- to long-term technical support and funding partnerships that enable the organisation to strengthen its core human resources and technical capacity in a sustained way. This approach enables the organisation to ensure that it maintains consistent and reliable partnerships with the communities we work with, avoiding short-lived and unsustainable time frames that often plague many otherwise well framed initiatives.

The challenging and highly rewarding nature of our vision and mission demands that we stay the course and stand by the communities we work with for as long as they ask us to.

We would like to thank the following organisations that contribute towards our work:
  • Department for International Development UK
  • Dorobo Fund for Tanzania
  • Flora Family Foundation
  • Foundation for Civil Society
  • Friends of Serengeti Switzerland FSS
  • Global Green Grants
  • IFAD Indigenous Peoples Assistance Facility
  • International Land Coalition
  • International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs
  • Maliasili Initiatives
  • Oxfam
  • The Foundation for Civil Society
  • The Nature Conservancy
  • The Womadix Fund
  • United States Agency for International Development
  • Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Belgium
  • Wildlife Conservation Society
  • United States Agency for International Development

Special thanks to Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp at Lake Eyasi for their kind support in continuing to host our field teams at their campsite.
